May 15, 2014 To Queenstown

We peek out the window trying to catch the first view of Queenstown to see if it matches the reputation. The airplane view over a wing did not work so well but on the ground heading for the van causes us to perform the difficult task of moving toward the van while turning circles looking around.

This is a 360 degree land as everywhere you look it is just stunning.

Queenstown sits by a giant lake with snow cap mountains on the left from our room and a treeless mountain on our right. You will enjoy the view from our room, so we took some pictures for you...

Time to explore downtown Queenstown and some of our group got the low down on the best shopping and somehow they find it. Imagine that. Merino wool mixed with, get this, Possum. Yes Possum. Apparently not the same as ours and the fur is double the warmth of the wool. Light as a feather and soft to the touch. We got some in the form of scarfs, sweaters and we may not be done.

Dinner was at Brotswana Butchery, and was very good..complemented by some area wine. Very nice night in Queenstown, NZ.
