Ahh...
We are going to France and Spain this year! It can get hot and crowded there in the summer so we are making our trip in April. And both places, we hear, have pretty decent wine and food. So it is set then, off we go to France and Spain!
We are going to France and Spain this year! It can get hot and crowded there in the summer so we are making our trip in April. And both places, we hear, have pretty decent wine and food. So it is set then, off we go to France and Spain!
We split the trip planning so Tina planned our route in
France and I looked for the good stuff in Spain. Straight off we find we need half a year to
see what we want so we make some hard decisions. Tina and I are buried in their Pismo Beach
office making plans and reservations and, fueled by coffee and wine, we create
a beauty of a trip. Krim and Jim are
going to love it! We can reminisce on the trip as we eat beans and rice for the
rest of the year to pay for it.
Tina starts us off with a winner as we fly into Nice and
drive half way to Monaco for a stay in a beautiful boutique hotel with a Michelin
star restaurant set in a medieval town high on a hill overlooking the French Riviera
and Mediterranean Sea. Fabled wine
country with fabulous food and scenery awaits us for the next 2 weeks!
We saw the impact of Spanish conquests in Peru and now we
will get to see the effect of the Moorish invasion and occupation of Spain for more
than 500 years. We must visit a bar or
two for Tapas, Flamingo guitar and dancers!
And just for kicks we will check out the place Columbus planned his sail
to the new world. Sherry was invented
here and provided fuel for the Roman Orgies – got to see that! North of Madrid the region makes wonderful
wine we must try. We spend the last days of our trip in Madrid where I feel
certain there will be a last shopping spree.
Are we really doing this?
Stay turned to see what happens!
